With TU Delft, BIMlink has a third major university that relies on the BIMlink cloud platform for property management in a future-proof property file. The university campus has an area of approximately 160 hectares and currently has approximately 540,000 m2 gross floor area (GFA).
TU Delft is the oldest and largest university of technology in the Netherlands and has eight faculties that together offer 16 Bachelor’s and more than 30 Master’s programs. The university has more than 27,000 students and 6,500 employees who work on science, design and technology on a daily basis.

The mission of the Campus Real Estate & Facility Management (CREFM) management is to create an environment in which students, scientists and employees can make a maximum contribution to this goal. CREFM develops and manages the real estate and grounds of TU Delft. This includes area development, new construction and renovations, management and maintenance, and the supply of energy on campus.
One data platform for property management

BIMlink has won the pre-selection for a data platform for the digital management of real estate in a European tender. The cloud platform offers TU Delft, among other things, a smart Document Management System (DMS) in which the university can manage existing and future buildings with the latest technology. “BIMlink is a powerful and future-proof real estate file for TU Delft because of the overview of all technical building information, the open API link with third-party applications and the easy access to this information through smart search functions,” says technical information manager Adriaan Jung.
Implementation and setup
The implementation and design of the DMS and the associated workflows are done in collaboration with Brink and are scheduled to take about six months. During this period, TU Delft employees will receive training and support from BIMlink. The plan is that the university will be able to manage the existing real estate data with BIMlink starting this autumn. “The use of BIMlink is initially focused on the management phase,” Adriaan explains. “The possibilities of using BIMlink during new construction projects are still being investigated.”
The existing document management systems no longer meet the current requirements of CREFM and are therefore being replaced. This means that TU Delft is completely ready for the future. “As an innovative DMS, BIMlink fits perfectly into the call for tenders. We still have to get to know the extensive features, but we have great confidence in a future-proof real estate file.”
