BIM Workspace

BIMlink has a partnership with BIM Workspace by CSN Group to facilitate the exchange of data and applications in construction projects and thus to improve the quality of building files. BIM Workspace is a virtual desktop in the cloud where BIM and CAD applications can be installed. By centralizing project data and applications, stakeholders always have secure and device-independent access to the correct project data and applications. This makes the BIM process more efficient and lowers fail costs because fewer extracts are exchanged. And intellectual property is better protected because team members only have access to data that is relevant to them. In this way, all data remains within the secure project environment and is not distributed to numerous (local) company networks.

The integration of BIMlink and BIM Workspace makes it easier for customers to comply with all steps of the ISO 19650 norm. This standard is regarded worldwide as the benchmark for managing digital information in the lifecycle of construction works. ISO 19650 describes a Common Data Environment (CDE) in four areas: working area, common area, publication area and archive. BIM Workspace from CSN Group supports the first two stages; the working area and common area. BIMlink is used for the publication area and as an archive.

The partnership with BIM Workspace fits in well with the API connection that BIMlink has with Project Manager of Delta Pi because it allows aspect models to be published easily in the online application of BIMlink. The control of data as described in the ISO standard helps project partners in BIM Workspace to efficiently access and manage data from BIM models.
